Canesten® is Australia's #1 thrush treatment brand*. Canesten® 6 Day Cream is a six-day treatment routine for thrush, which may be suitable for women who prefer to treat for longer, who experience vaginal dryness or suffer from repeat episodes of thrush.

It contains a tube of cream and six applicators, to insert the cream high into the vagina. It is important to note this product is for internal vaginal use only. If you wish to treat an external itch we recommend you use Canesoral Duo or Canesten 1 Day Pessary + Cream.

Canesten 6 Day cream contains Clotrimazole 10 mg/g.

Different dosage to suit your preference: 1 day treatments are convenient and effective, 3 day treatments allow you to feel the product take effect during treatment and 6 day treatments are recommended for those who prefer to treat for longer or suffer from repeat episodes.

Choose from vaginal or oral administration: oral capsule, soothing internal cream or vaginal pessary.

How to use?

Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using Canesten®

Canesten thrush internal cream applicator

The cream should preferably be inserted in the evening, just before bed time, with the use of the applicator. Using it before you go to sleep will have the best effect.

Preparing the applicator:
Step 1: Pull out the plunger of the applicator until it stops.
Step 2: Open the Canesten cream tube. Attach the applicator to the tube and hold it firmly pressed against the tube.
Step 3: Squeeze the cream tube until the applicator is full, then remove the cream tube.

Inserting the applicator:
Step 4: Carefully insert the end of the applicator containing the cream as gently and deeply into the vagina as possible. This is best achieved when lying on your back with your knees bent.
Step 5: Hold the applicator in position and slowly push the plunger with the forefinger until it stops. This places the cream in the vagina.
Step 6: Remove the applicator from the vagina and dispose of the applicator.

Can men get thrush?

It’s less common than in women, but men can also suffer from thrush symptoms
