• Irregular Heartbeat Detection (IHD)
• NEW Algorithm for Atrial Fibrillation detection (AF)
• Both AC and DC power options as standard
• Adjustable time and date display
• NEW High visibility screen ideal for those with poor vision
• 2 user x 120 data memory
The Kärdio Blood Pressure Monitor provides features only available in monitors available at more than twice the price.
WHY IS THIS MONITOR DIFFERENT?
Unlike most blood pressure monitors, readings performed using the Kärdio Blood Pressure Monitor are screened to distinguish between benign irregular heartbeats and atrial fibrillation (AF). AF is the most common arrhythmia in older adults.
Atrial fibrillation causes irregular blood flow inside the heart, facilitating the formation of small blood clots in the atria. Subsequently, if a blood clot becomes dislodged it enters the circulation, creating a stroke risk. Patients identified with AF have a five times greater risk of suffering a stroke compared to the general population.
This device is an essential for adults (50 years of age or older) with hypertension because early AF detection and treatment significantly improves health outcomes and can save life.
Note: This monitor screens for AF cardiac rhythm irregularity and as such can save your life. The monitor however does NOT provide a diagnosis and is NOT a substitute for the medical advice and care provided by your doctor. AF monitor alerts should be referred to your doctor for further investigation as may be deemed necessary.
